Energy Reports

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)

As part of a Home Information Pack (HIP) for residential sales or as a stand alone product for private rentals, every EPC instruction is managed from start to finish by our dedicated schedulers ensuring that each appointment is made for the DEA within 48 hours of receiving the instruction. Once the DEA arrives at the property they will complete the EPC and have it uploaded to the Landmark database where the scheduler will return it to you within 24 hours of completion.

The EPC tells you how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient homes - which should have the lowest fuel bills - are in band A.

There are two ratings shown on the EPC:

  • The environmental impact rating measures the impact of the property on the environment in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
  • The energy efficiency rating measures a property’s overall efficiency.

The energy efficiency and environmental impact of the property will vary according to the age, location, size and whether it has been insulated and is heated to modern standards. The average rating for a property in England and Wales is band is E. The EPC is a very useful document for recommending improvements to a property that will help increase its efficiency and reduce its carbon emissions on the environment.
